Just down the road from my favourite haunt, St Pancras, is a nice grand old
victorian gothic pile, known as the Hotel Russell. Some of the interiors are
worth a quick viewing, but its the exterior on three of it's sides, decorated
with no expense spared, that are the showcase for this most marvellous of
places.
Theres a lot to look at, and it's really good fun. It's a shame that theres not more buildings like this, but on the other hand, the shambolic nearby structures of nearby buildings are a great backdrop for the Russell, and make it stand out even more. I've stood for hours looking at this building, so much that other tourists have looked up, wondering what I was looking at. Hotel Russell takes a long time to examine in great detail. I've taken a few snapshots of it in my time, some of which are included on this page, but the building has to be seen to be believed, thats the thing. Charles (of London Town)
